TRUST IN BOINZ PRE-PURCHASE BUILDING INSPECTIONS
By BOINZ | The Building Officials Institute of NZ | Guest Article
The Building Officials Institute of New Zealand (BOINZ) is the peak body representing over 1200 members engaged in building controls in both the public and private sectors, and a good place to start for a pre-purchase building inspection.
Those members of the building institute who work within the field of pre-purchase property inspections are BOINZ accredited buildings surveyors and have undertaken the commitment to appropriate qualifications, skills and knowledge.
BOINZ accredited building surveyors ensure property consumers are provided the best possible inspection service and an understanding of the issues presented in relation to the property concerned.
Higher Standards of Pre-Purchase Building Inspections Protect Consumers
BOINZ building inspectors are dedicated to providing quality residential property inspections in accordance with NZS4306:2005 Residential Property Inspections.
An accredited building surveyor is assessed through training, assessment and peer review, prior to accreditation and is required to undertake continual professional development courses to maintain their annual accreditation.
All accredited members are required to have professional indemnity insurance.
Non-members of BOINZ may not have indemnity insurance which puts consumers at risk if things go wrong.
The safest option available for finding a building inspector in New Zealand is with BOINZ members.
